Our video transcription service is utilised by documentary film producers as well as private individuals and business clientele who make use of video media for recording meetings, discussions, speeches and training sessions.
Etranscript compiles transcripts containing the additional data often required, such as time-stamping, content indexing as well as thumbnail insertion.
Whether it is an arbitration session that has been recorded on video or the research interviews for your documentary, Etranscript is able to assist with the transcription of your video material.
Send files to Etranscript
Sending your video files for transcription on DVD is possibly a wiser option for very large file sizes. If file sizes allow, then the file can be transferred electronically using one of the following methods:
- A file transfer service of your choice or a cloud storage service such as Dropbox.
- FTP - provide details for Etranscript to access your FTP facility to download your files.
Transcription of your video files
Etranscript is able to transcribe from all of the commonly-used video file formats as well as some of the not-so-popular file formats. Using player software, your video files will be transcribed using intelligent-verbatim transcript style to a Microsoft Word document that is specifically formatted per your requirements. Often this involves time-stamping, content indexing and thumbnail references, all of which can be provided by Etranscript. The document is then checked for accuracy by replaying the entire video file and editing the transcript where necessary. The completed transcript is then sent to the client.
The general rule of thumb is that it takes 4 to six hours to transcribe one hour of recording. Read more about transcription turnaround times here.
Completed transcript is sent to you
As soon as transcription and transcript checking are complete, the transcript is emailed to the client. Alternatively, the transcript can be transferred using a file transfer service of your choice or a cloud storage service such as Dropbox. The final checking and verification of the transcript is performed by the client.
